How it works

Beginner training plan

Your first lessonThe first session is dedicated to assessing the student overall—getting to know them, understanding their specific goals, and identifying their strengths and weaknesses. This initial evaluation helps determine the key focus areas for upcoming lessons.

Lesson 11+At this point, a strong rapport has been built between the student and me. The tone is relaxed and friendly, and the student is fully adapted to the training structure. This is typically when I begin incorporating video analysis to offer deeper insight into the student’s performance and help them progress even outside of our sessions.

Lesson 4-10By this stage, the student builds confidence and consistency in the core strokes. Lessons emphasize repetition, proper technique, and simple rallying exercises to develop rhythm and control. Concepts such as shot selection, movement, and court awareness are introduced gradually, with plenty of variety to keep sessions engaging while reinforcing the basics.

Lesson 2-3These sessions focus on introducing and reinforcing the fundamental strokes—forehand, backhand, volley, serve, and overhead. I also begin to teach the basic rules, scoring system, court positioning, and simple footwork patterns. A structured routine is introduced, including a proper warm-up, basic technical drills, and a cooldown, with clear and encouraging feedback throughout.

Advanced training plan

Lesson 4-10By this stage, physical conditioning and mental training are gradually introduced into the student’s routine to support their overall development. Technical drills become more varied to ensure balanced improvement across all aspects of the student’s game.

Lesson 2-3These sessions continue the evaluation process while providing a clearer picture of the student’s playing style and needs. A consistent routine begins to take shape, including a structured warm-up, technical drills, and a cooldown. Throughout each session, I provide detailed feedback and constructive critique to guide improvement.

Youth players

Working with kidsWhen working with kids, I keep the lessons fun, engaging, and easy to follow by using games, simple drills, and positive reinforcement. I focus more on coordination, basic technique, and building a love for the game, while still introducing structure through warm-ups and cooldowns suited to their age and energy levels.

Working with teenagersWith teenagers, I balance structure and discipline with motivation and personal connection. I place greater emphasis on refining technique, consistency, and competitive mindset, while tailoring drills to match their physical development and goals—whether recreational or competitive. Video feedback and mental training can also be gradually introduced to support their growth.
