I am a PPA and IPTPA certified coach specializing in beginner to intermediate pickleball instruction for adults and juniors. With three years of coaching experience in Indiana, I recently relocated to Alexandria, Virginia, and am excited to help players in this area elevate their game. My background includes over a decade of competitive play in USTA womenโ€™s tennis leagues, and I discovered my love for pickleball five years ago. Deborah is an amazing Pickleball coach and an excellent player. She designed a coaching program for a kid's summer camp that was extraordinary. She had the kids playing in no time and having tons of fun, using age-appropriate games and drills so they could practice different aspects of play. In addition, Deb is super easy-going and fun as a coach and to play with, a perfect combination of relaxed but competitive. And a darn good player too!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIntroductory Lesson: Setting the Foundation for Your Pickleball Journey! In our first session, we'll start with a friendly chat to get to know your goals and aspirations for these lessons. Whether you're aiming to improve your game or just have fun on the court, I'm here to help you achieve those objectives. Next, we'll cover the essentials: safety tips, equipment overview, and a quick introduction to the rules of the game. I'll also be ready to answer any initial questions you have about pickleball, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident as we begin. After our discussion, I'll watch you play to assess your current skill level and understanding of the game. This will help me tailor our lessons to fit your needs perfectly. Weโ€™ll then dive into a practice game, where I'll pause at key moments to explain important aspects of the game that you might want to focus on. This will give you a clear picture of what we'll work on in future lessons. Finally, we'll wrap up with some time for your questions and feedback, ensuring you're on the right track. I'll also provide you with a practice sheet to guide your progress between sessions.

What you need to bring- Be sure to bring plenty of water to drink! - Wear tennis court type shoes (not running shoes). - Dress for the weather conditions and you may want to bring a cooling towel on hot days. - Bring your paddle if you have one. If you donโ€™t have a paddle, you can borrow one of mine during your session. - A hat, visor or sunglasses will help keep the sun from being so bright on your eyes.

What I can bringI will have extra paddles on hand that can be borrowed during your session if you do not have a paddle of your own. It is good idea to try out a variety of paddles before buying one of your own.

If you need to cancel your lesson, no worries! You can get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of making your booking. We want to make the process as hassle-free as possible for you.

And if you simply want to reschedule your lesson, change the date and time, or adjust the number of students joining, we've got you covered there too. You can easily make these changes within 24 hours of booking, and up to 72 hours before your lesson starts.
